Trapped production day 2- November 24th 2011

The next day after we'd decided who was going to do what, We got cracking on the actual story line of our movie. I filled in a sheet telling the storyline of our movie under the sections Beginning, Middle and End. From the storyline we all contributed and put our own ideas into. Briefly our storyline shows a young girl and her friend walking through a school coridoor. She then forgets her phone so goes back to her classroom which is now empty to get it and ends up being locked in, from then on many strange things start to happen which makes her life hell,  a demon then rises from behind her who has been causing it all.

And heres our storyline planning:

Trapped production day 1- November 23rd 2011

In this session we was told what our task which was going to last for a month would be and it was to create a short horror movie lasting no less then 3 minutes in our group, With the tittle and them 'Trapped'. Our group just dedicated that whole day to the planning of our 'Trapped' movie, we all put in our ideas of what genre we thought our movie should be, who's going to play who and where our movie would be set, etc. After all our brainstorming we decided on all these and where ready for the next day.

This is a photo i took of Tom and Amy discussing plans for our movie.

'Trapped' Sound clip for intro and end credits

This session Me and Amy searched for the perfect scary sound clip to go along side our i stop motion intro and end credits. I searched through a lot of different websites and typed in a lot of different things but then found the what i thought was the perfect sound clip, I found this on Youtube. I then played the clip to the rest of group to see what they thought and they all agreed it was the one we were going to use. As they thought like me that it would suit nicely and give a very creepy to our i stop motion intro and end credits, And here it is so have a listen.

'Trapped' Test footage

In this session we took out one of the high quality HDVI video cameras, Dolly and the filming wheelchair. We had to fill in a booking form to take out our camera this made it feel more professional but also the ensures the camera and accessories get returned safely. Using the filming wheelchair tom filmed Me and Amy walking outside and down the corridor at different angles to mainly get a feel for the camera and equipment so we understand how it all works and operates. But also get a idea of what angles we might like to use and generally what its going to look like.

Shotlists/ Storyboard

We made a shotlist/ storyboard of our script, So you can see clearer what our shots will look like and it gives us space to write what is happening in these shots but also the type of shot it is. I personally think our shotlist/ Storyboard came out very well and you can see clearly what our film is going to look like purely just looking at our shotlist/ storyboard. Here they are.

Opening title planning

This lesson was asked to make a concept sheet of how our title and end credits would look on our 'Trapped' movie. So that we got the perfect designs we all brainstormed ideas on a spider diagram and then together choose and i then drew the perfect one.

This was the title i drew and we choose to use in our film, But as you will notice we then later on changed this initial idea, And decided to do a new title screen using eye stop motion and a slightly different font. These things tend to happen in a spure of the moment thing while filming as at the time you realise new ideas may look better than your initial ones.
